Head – in proportion to body          
Eyes- med. to large, not bulging, dark rims, distinct corners, clear & dark, harmony w/coat color          
Ears-large, prominent, slightly rounded tip, strong leather, moderately wide at base, tips slightly wide of straight line from tip of nose through eye          
Skull - moderately wide, flat between ears, no prominent occiput, tapers toward eye,          
Cheeks - flat w/some chiseling where meets foreface under eye, no prominence of cheekbone
Muzzle – about 3 to 5, shorter than skull length, rounded, not blunt, tapered but not pointed, plane parallel to skull,          
Stop - definite, but moderate          
Nose – pigmented, merles may have some pink, but overall nose should be black          
Lips- fit cleanly, evenly all around          
Jaws – strong, clean, under-jaw moderately deep and well formed, reaching to the base of the nose and rounded at chin          
Teeth – scissor bite preferred, level acceptable…but not in a puppy          
Neck – long, muscular, no throatiness, well developed, in proportion to build, fits into strong, well shaped shoulders          
Topline – level          
Body Proportion – long, strong – ideal ratio length to height l.8:1          
Chest – moderately broad w/prominent breastbone, deep brisket, well sprung ribs – ribs extending well back          
Loin – short, strong, moderately tucked up, waist well defined          
Croup – slight downward slope to tail set          
Tail – set fairly low on body line, reaching below hock, carried low when standing or moving slowly, lifted when excited, never curled over back – fox brush appearance          
Forequarters – moderately broad chest tapers to deep brisket, well let down between forelegs          
Shoulders – slope downward and outward from withers to accommodate rib spring., shoulder blade long and well laid back, meeting upper arm at close to right angle, upper arm nearly as long as shoulder blade          
Elbows – close fitting, neither loose nor tied          
Forearms – curved to fit spring of ribs, curve in forearm makes wrists somewhat closer than elbows          
Pasterns – strong, flexible, dewclaws removed          
Feet – relatively large, rounded, well filled pads. Point slightly outward no more than 30 degrees, toes not splayed          
Front – neither straight nor so crooked to appear unsound, bone heavy for a dog this size, but not so much as to reduce agility, not knuckling over, no straight nor fiddle fronts          
Hindquarters – well muscled, strong, slightly less wide than shoulders.          
Hipbone – slopes downward w/croup, forming right angle with femur at hip socket, moderate angulation at stifle and hock, powerful rear          
Hocks – well let down, metatarsi perpendicular to ground and parallel to each other, dewclaws removed          
Back feet – point straight ahead, slightly smaller, more oval than front, toes arched, pads well filled.          
Coat – medium length, dense, double, outer hairs slightly harsh, never wiry, curly or silky, lies relatively smooth          
Color – white on body should not predominate and never surround the eyes          
Gait – free, smooth, effortless, viewed from side, forelegs should reach well forward at a trot, w/o much lift, in unison w/driving action of hind legs – long free stride in front.          
Movement Front – legs do not move in exact parallel planes, but incline slightly inward, not close or overly wide coming          
Movement Rear – hind legs, when trotting should reach well under body, move on a line w/forelegs, with hocks turning neither in nor out, no tendency to swing out, cross over, or interfere with each other, no short choppy movement, no rolling or high stepping gait, not close or overly wide going.          
Temperament – not shy, even tempered, affectionate, adaptable, not overly aggressive          
Show Attitude          
Coat Color – take into consideration ticking, brilliance, balanced pattern, flash
