| Dona and Lyle live in a
beautiful area near the Arkansas- Missouri line in the Ozark Mountains. Dona is an
insurance adjuster and spends her free time with her chosen hobby of
raising and showing quality AKC Cardigan Welsh Corgis. Lyle is
semi-retired and spends his time as a professional fishing guide,
trainer, and caretaker of the Cardis.
Dona has been into the sport of purebred dogs
for many years. She showed Australian Shepherds in ASCA back in the
days before they were AKC approved. She l ater showed Quarter Horses
and fished professionally until 2000 when she returned to the show ring with
Japanese Chins. In 2001 she owned and personally handled the #1
Japanese Chin (Oreo) in JCCA and #2 in AKC points. In 2003 she took
Oreo to the #1 spot in both JCCA and in AKC points. Oreo
proudly received an Award of Merit at Westminster in 2004 and took
Best In Show twice during her career.
After enjoying the success of Chins,
the Caldwells fell in love with Cardigan Welsh Corgis and embarked upon
showing and doing some Cardigan breeding under the name of "Ozmo". In
2008 they decided to combine their efforts with Sharon and Eugene Nottingham
who had formerly used the kennel name of "Notts". Their new, joint
kennel name was chosen to incorporate both former kennel names - "Notzmo".
The Cardigans who live with the Caldwells
enjoy the country life with many acres to explore. They have
a nice kennel facility and doggie room in their home. It's not unusual
to see them and their Cardis curled up in front of the TV in the den either!
